. Two weeks ago, the nerd in me was fully fed, nourished, and thriving, because I got to spend the weekend on the events team at Howler Con, featuring the cast of MTV’s Teen Wolf.
Yes… that Teen Wolf.
Yes… that cast.
And yes… I kept it together. (Mostly. 😂)
As someone who lives at the intersection of fandom + professional event production, this experience was honestly the perfect blend of both worlds. Working behind the scenes of a convention dedicated to a show I actually love? A dream.
What I Did at Howler Con
I stepped into several roles throughout the weekend, making sure both talent and attendees had an unforgettable experience:
Talent Hospitality
I had the pleasure of assisting the cast, including my husband in my head, Tyler Hoechlin. (EEK!) Sidebar: Dude’s like, a perfect Superman, but I digress. And don’t worry. I kept it extremely professional the entire time. Even when I almost melted after he said “Good morning” to me. 🤣
Ensuring the guests of honor were comfortable, cared for, and seamlessly guided through their schedule gave me a new appreciation for how much coordination goes into celebrity-driven events.
Photo Op Management
I helped keep the photo op area running smoothly, managing lines, timing, fan interactions, and making sure everything stayed on schedule.
It’s fast-paced, high energy, and honestly? A blast.
Attendee Registration
The front line of any event. Getting hundreds of excited fans checked in, prepped, and ready for their Howler Con experience was so much fun. The energy at registration sets the tone for the entire event, and Teen Wolf fans came READY.
The Best Part? The People.
I worked with an amazing team that was organized, compassionate, and truly committed to making this con special.
And yes, I definitely fangirled a little (in my head, not outwardly at all).
Between the behind-the-scenes coordination, the electric fan energy, and the chance to mix business with my inner nerd… this was one for the books.
Would I do it again?
Absolutely.
Fandom events combine everything I love: production logistics, community connection, memorable experiences, and just enough chaotic fun to keep you on your toes.
If you ever need an event manager who can run a show while also knowing every plot twist of a supernatural teen drama?
Yeah. I’m your girl.
